The Review

Santa bought this for my 5 yr old daughter. I waited to review it as I wanted to see how clean it came when it was washed. It did come perfectly clean--even using washable markers that did not come with it. I would say it is appropriate for 4-7 yr olds. Children older than that would not be challenged by the word finds or dot to dots as they are not that hard. Overall a good toy. My daughter likes it.

We have tried these and the Crayola tub crayons and these are much better. Yes, they do occasionally come out of the holder, but all you have to do is push them back in. These are much softer than the Crayola branded tub crayons. Those flake and are harder to clean. The are smooth and are simple to clean up. Getting ready to order out second set!

I bought these based on the few positive reviews... Bad decision. Crayola tub crayons are way better- our last set lasted us quite a long time- where as we just are using these in the bath for the first time tonite and they did all fall out of the holders and are essentially melting in the bathtub. The Review

I love play-doh, and so does my 3-year-old. And who doesn't love extruding?? So when I saw the spaghetti factory, I knew we were in for a good time.

Well, it took me a while to figure out how to assemble the "pasta" maker. I did not notice the diagrams on the box's end flaps. If you haven't figured it out already, the little red tube goes in with the flat side UP, and the hole down. For a day I did it upside down and could not figure out why it wasn't working!

But once we got it going, it worked great. I love all the little mold shapes - the kids made ravioli, tortellini, broccoli, chicken drumsticks, meatballs etc. Very cute. Probably not great if your kid still eats play-doh though!

The Review

I just got this box and took it into my classroom to try.
I'm thinking about dividing a paper into quarters and illustrating seed, sprout, plant, sunflower or seed, sprout, plant, pumpkin.
Then using the medium as it is intended.You see so many unable to do that. Many struggle with oil pastels, but I love them. They are a thick, physical, messy, material. Ideal for starting to use in childhood. There is a whale of a learning curve in many things, oil pastels are one. That and this box is sturdy and comes with enough pastels per color that my class of twenty can have at the colors and have extra black an white to move it around. I'd like to use it on the construction paper at school. It has some tooth.
16 colors, a wide enough range to be interesting, fairly good, and waiting for a good project. Too bad that I pay for it.

The Review

I bought this table for my 5 year old son (who has a sensory processing disorder) to help him with his fine motor skills. The table was easy enough to put together, I didn't have any problems putting it together myself. Took about 15 minutes. The bricks that come with the table are not Lego brand, so don't expect the Lego quality for those. I knew that when I placed my order and just bought the regular Legos separately. We don't have a problem using the Legos with this table like some of the other reviewers have noted. The train set is only 30 pieces with a small track and my son only played with that once before he got bored. It might be good for younger kids, or if you purchased additional track pieces. My son is more interested in the Lego side of the table. I bought plastic storage bins from Wally-World to store the Legos inside the table and they are really convenient to just take out and either place on the table or on the floor. They were only $1 & $2 each for different sizes. All in all, I think this is a great table for the price and I have seen improvement in my son's fine motor skills in just a couple of weeks! I must admit that I have spent about as much time playing with the Legos at this table as my son has! I suppose you never outgrow Legos...

The Review

This is a fairly enjoyable game. Nice graphics. Good characters. Other have said it, and I agree: the saber movements are not mirrored by the movement of the Wii control. If that was the case, I'd give this 5 stars.

Once you figure out that the sword play is like that in real sword combat, based on distance and timing, it becomes much more interesting on the combat front.

I bought this one at full price, but it is available now used or at lower prices. I would not recommend it at the $39+ range, but under $25, it is worth picking up.

My son learned how to yo-yo and takes one with him wherever he goes. The string was getting knotted up and dirty, so it was nice to have a replacement. It works much better with clean string. I'm still looking for something a little stronger, more resilient, but this fits the bill.

I've had the same Duncan yo-yo since I was about four. It's survived international moves, cross-country moves, been rescued from garage sales and give-away boxes, but it was no match for my pre-schooler with a pair of scissors. The string got cut and I thought it was all over with. Then it occurred to me, "You can buy anything else on the internet, why not yo-yo string?". I searched for yo-yo string and came up with this. It came the other day and works great. There are several pieces of string in the package, so if you have more than on yo-yo needing string, you only need to buy one package.

I love these so much we bought a second set. They're colorful and the creatures are much more creative than most bath squirters--my older son particularly loves that there's a pufferfish! A few of these live in the bath, but most of them are in the toy box as little things our baby can chew on and put in and take out of things (like his dump truck or a plastic box or something). I also keep a few in my diaper bag, since they're so small, for emergency distraction purposes. We haven't developed mold in the ones in the bath yet, but if we did I'd soak them in a vinegar solution overnight. Think I might start doing this preventatively once a week or so.

These squirt toys are great. We first saw them at swim class and my daughter liked them so much we had to buy some for at home. We keep 5 in the tub and the other 5 out in the toy chest. She loves them, and they make really great teethers (my daughter is 8 months now)!!

The Review

Do you feel up to tricking someone into believing that you got a permanent tatoo? These temporary tatoos hold up great for several days. I put one on and told my mom (who hates tatoos) that I got another tatoo. She didn't believe me. I showed her that it couldn't be scrubbed off with soap and water. I made sure I got more of that tatoo to reapply in order to truly convince her of its permanency. I'm trusting she won't be reading this review!

I have nothing negative to review about this product. My son absolutely loved it, it inspired him to do a 4th grade school project on the moon and the solar system. He was so excited from the information learned by the c.d. that came with the moon in my room...he rocked it and got an "A"!!!! I love this item, it's been over a month and my son is still in awe over having a life-like moon in his room! He sets his moon to the actual moon and loves that he can enjoy it until he falls asleep! For the price this sub is a good value. It travels a decent distance when wound fully, and it does indeed rise and submerge. My three year old daughter cracked off one of the fins, but she's a bit hard on toys. My six year old son who loves subs had a lot of fun with it. We used it mostly in the bathtub, but it would be fine in a pool. I would not use it in a lake, since it would be too easy to lose in cloudy water. For the price it was a good toy.

I purchased 2 of these, one for each of my kids (5 & 7 1/2). The instructions are easy to read and experiments easy to put together. My only complaint is that the supplies are to be used in several different projects, so you need to put them in baggies, so they don't spill all over. Other than that... it was inexpensive, provided us with many hours of fun and the kids learned about the different substances and how they interact with each other to make something different. I'd definitely buy again.

I had been trying to find a Duncan Wizzer for years, having greatly enjoyed collecting them back when I was a kid. Though I had found mostly nostalgia-based blogs and websites online, it was a lot harder to find any sites with actual Wizzers for purchase. Likewise, though these same sites claimed that regional stores like Target often sold Wizzers, none of the stores in my area had them, and the one which I could find online always seemed sold out whenever they got some in. I then made a habit of checking Amazon at least twice a month in the slim hope of finding them, and eventually my patience paid off. I bought two of them, and to be honest the Collector in me has thus far kept me from opening them. Nonetheless, I am very happy with my purchase, in that "Kid On Christmas Morning"-kind of way.

My son is four years old and he loves this book. However, I feel it is for older children. It is set up like a comic book; I guess I am not familiar with spiderman books. I just prefer all of his other books over this one.

A cute little monkey instead of a clown. I chose this one because it has the tradional song. This is not as sturdy as the ones my kids had back in the late 60s and early 70s, but I suppose that is the way most things are today. A fun toy to hold and play for a 10 month old. I am not sure how long it will last once she begins to really use it, but we are having many laughs with it now.

There is a magnet on the end of the pole to pick up the fish, star and crab but cannot pick up multiple items at the same time. It's a pretty basic toy.

Like countless others, we purchased these amazingly advertised pets for our grandchildren & youngest daughter (ages 4, 7 & 10) along with the giant city & slide. The kids got to play with them for hours on Christmas day, but that's where it ended. Within 1 day, the clips that hold the pieces together started not holding the unit together (causing the pieces to come apart repreatedly & making the hamsters not work properly whle going over the connections). The pets died within a couple hours, which we replaced batteries, and after a few minutes they were back to working poorly, slowed down very quickly, etc. Now we have a hamster (Jilly) that only makes a few noises, the wheels won't move (we just put new batteries in her) so we are going to contact the manufacturer to see what to do. Overall, this is the most disappointing Christmas toy we have ever purchased (I have never left a review so that should tell you how terrible this has been). Also READ the PRECAUTIONS - it is listed so it's not their fault, but our 4 year old granddaughter was holding the hamster & started screaming, I looked over & it had gotten caught in her hair, we followed the directions like it said, but you don't have time to do what they say because the hamster was up to her scalp in a split second. We ended up cutting her hair off, now she has a bald spot. ALSO the hamster ball is extremely hard to put together & then there is a stabilizer you are supposed to use in order to keep the hamster upright, never did this work, the hamster kept falling over & we didn't get to use the ball anymore (the kids were very disappointed).Zhu Zhu Pets - Funhouse Set with Hamster

I received this game the day before Mother Nature dumped 2 feet of snow on our area. We were stuck inside but didn't mind because we were having so much fun discovering the new games. The real standouts on this game disk (we think) are archery, bowling and waverunner althought there are a few we haven't played yet so others may be fun too. The 100 pin bowling frame is hysterical! And we could play the waverunner for hours. Another plus is the Mii screen button that lets you easily change Mii people. And it's cool to unlock new difficulty levels of the games. Stinkers: Tried the Dogfight (DUM), canoeing (DUM) and skydiving (DUMMER) and we thought these were halfbaked efforts to fill the game disk. Perhaps we didn't spend enough time to master these games. All in all though, we enjoy playing Sports Resort. Note: The bundle I purchased came with a Motion Sensor and I also purchased another on my own. Unless you're playing against someone one on one like table tennis or sword fight, you don't need another controller. I didn't see much of a difference using the motion controller anyway but it's possible that it's a requirement playing these games. We were really surprised that we had to pass the one controller back in forth in bowling. Unless I did something wrong, it didn't give us an option to use both controls. Buy this one!! Amazon is wonderful. Received the game a full 3 days earlier than predicted, just in time for the snow storm. Thanks Amazon. You rock! Hey Wii, how about a snow shoveling game???!!!! Or driving in the snow, sledding or peeing in the snow(<--could call this one Wii Wii)? LOL I'm betting Wii is not looking for anyone in Research & Development, but if not, I'm open for an offer Wii!!
